Activated carbon adsorption — Conventional VOC adsorption, downstream polishing or backup protection under suitable operating conditions.

Humidity, oil mist, dust and competitive adsorption can shorten service life. Assess pressure drop, outlet monitoring, media replacement and waste disposal costs together.
Usually installed after adequate mist removal and pretreatment. It does not replace assessment of sources, capture systems and pollutant composition.
PROCESS & OPERATION
ACU activated-carbon units use porous media to capture suitable compounds. Contact conditions, inlet pretreatment, temperature, pressure drop and spent-media maintenance are considered together.
